Water Testing, Septic & Holding Tank Pumpouts
The Ephraim Treatment Plant, located at
The Ephraim Wastewater Committee re-established in 2001, is committed to the goal of providing both residents and neighboring localities with state of the art service in the area of wastewater disposal and water quality testing. In the last two years our plant processed an average of 4 million gallons of wastewater and has performed over 600 water tests.
While some Ephraim residents enjoy the privilege of hook-up to the sewer line, .many rural residents maintain on-site waste systems such as Holding Tanks or Septic Tanks. If you are considering building on a new site, please contact the Treatment Plant for sewer hook-up information.
Our goals include serving our public and increasing our service levels to our valued residents. Due to our commitment to quality, we provide on-going training and education for our staff of three, Dave Alberts the Treatment Plant Manager, Brad Rasmusson-Operator. Training combines the latest techniques in laboratory procedures as well as proper wastewater transportation, handling and processing. Our plant operators are operator certified in Wastewater and Septage service.
We are a licensed and nationally known laboratory able to provide Ephraim residents and nearby community residents with well water testing at a moderate price of $23.00 per sample. It is recommended that you test your well at least once per year to ensure water quality, testing includes coliform bacteria and nitrate levels, as well as other bacteria, viruses and parasites. We can also recommend other tests that you may want to have run on your water, depending on your wells location, age and nearby land use. Testing containers and information on taking a water sample can be picked up at the treatment facility or at the Village Administrative Office located at 10005
The Ephraim Treatment Plant is equipped to pumpout and dispose of holding tank contents for residents. Residents may phone the Treatment Plant to schedule a pumpout or contact they may contact one of the local service providers for pumpout appointments.
In the future, we hope to provide additional service to residents concerning well site selection and maintenance.
